Here's what's happening in our creative space, the Sail Loft, the NaviStitch shop, and on Manningtree High Street over the coming weeks...
In the Sail Loft...

There are just two days left in the Sail Loft for the Artmix Group: 5 Coggeshall artists who create a variety of fine art: Dorothea King, Sue Fraser, Elizabeth Pottinger, Rose Langford and @norahjanet who will be joining us tomorrow afternoon (Friday). Come and meet the artist and chat to her about her fabulous Coast Series of work.
Enjoy printmaking, painting, design and textiles as well as stained glass from this fabulous collection of artists who are only with us until Saturday at 4pm - come and visit if you can!
Up next...
We're excited to open our doors next week and to welcome Gina Sandford-Nash and her incredible quilts back to the Sail Loft Gallery for her latest exhibition. Gina's with us until 28th September and is also joined by bespoke knitwear creative Maggie Cook. Welcome to Maggie as it's her first time exhibiting with us.
So the rest of September is all about the textiles - come and see our latest exhibition when you can.
And then...
Get your skates on - there are just 2 weeks left to enter your Christmas card designs in to this year's competition!

The 5 winning designs will be printed, and the cards sold to raise money which the The Rotary Club of Manningtree Stour Valley will distribute to local charities.
You can download all the information here or pick up more information from us in the NaviStitch shop. So, get painting and drawing, we cant wait to see your entries!

The winners will be announced on Friday 11th October 2024... Good Luck!
In The NaviStitch Shop

I've had a delivery of new cards in from Cinnamon Aitch. "Beautifully designed, environmentally kind and proudly made in the UK" is how they describe them ... and we agree!
We have a huge number of greeting card ranges in the NaviStitch shop and, if you can't make it down, take a look at my own ranges online.
Popping up at Christmas...

We are currently inviting artists and makers that would like take part in our 2024 Christmas pop up shop to apply.Â
We're looking for artists and makers that have something interesting to offer, that you won't find on every High Street.
Our Christmas pop-up shop is all about gifting and offering interesting and unique products that our customers would love to give or receive. We will have some wall art but we would be especially pleased to hear from artists that also have other product ranges - makers that are skilled in their craft and have high quality items to make the perfect Christmas gift.

Find more information and how to apply here. We will review applications as they are received with a cut off date of 7th October so early application is advised.
And finally...

Here's a new commission that I've recently worked on. It's of Bournemouth: a vintage chart with thread colours that pick out the soft blue and greens that are in the chart. Custom framing is by our very own Nick Holyman Framing. My customer chose the black core on the mount to really make it pop - I think we all worked together well for a fabulous result.
If you're making memories and would like to celebrate them, or you know someone who's celebrating and would like to mark the occasion, think about commissioning a piece of nautical stitched art.

Take a look at how easy it is to order your own unique piece created from maritime charts, both new and old - many of them fairly local. Always ask if you're looking for somewhere special - I've a huge collection.
Now that we can also take orders for bespoke framing in-store, the whole thing's as easy
Until next time, I wish you calm waters and plain sailing
Sam
