Manningtree - Exhibitions, Events and Summer Fun

Manningtree High Street

Being based in Manningtree gives us the advantage of not only having our wonderful NaviStitch shop and upstairs Sail Loft Gallery, but also the chance to be a part of the most creative high street - for the smallest town in England, we pack a huge amount in. Read more about Manningtree Exhibitions, Events and Summer Fun here...

In the Sail Loft...

It's hard to believe but we're in the penultimate week of our Summer Exhibition already. If you've not made plans yet, try to come to Manningtree this week or next to see a fine array of fabulous artists in one creative space.

Take a look here for the full list of artists.

Coming up next...

From 2nd to 5th August we've got Eleana Marshall joining us for her second exhibition before heading off to university to study Illustration - she enjoys painting on slate, stone and wood. Eleana's joined by Nicola Burton who is an 'eggshell artist' - she repurposes the eggs that her chickens lay to produce sustainable, statement art.

And finally next month, from 23rd August to 2nd September, Anne Plummer will be bringing her spectacular maritime paintings. An old friend of the Sail Loft, we know that she's a popular artists amongst our visitors.

Kicking off September, we've got Duffy Tomei joining us from 6th to 9th. She's currently got work in our Summer Exhibition but will be going solo for the first week of the month.

Here's something different from 13th to 16th September - Gina Sandford's quilt exhibition. Working from her studio in Harwich, Gina's inspired by traditional quilts. She produces quilts that are both artworks and functional and as such they maybe used around the home on beds, over furniture and on walls.

Following Gina we've got a joint exhibition from two very different artists who've displayed their work with us many times previously and proved extremely popular: Anne Plummer is back bringing her beautiful maritime paintings, and Mae Kandoo, her textile art.

The word 'Sale' in a rectangular frame

Now this doesnt happen very often but we are having a sale of some selected NaviStitch Cards from 27th-30th September as well as a few other selected items. Due to a change in the way we print our card designs, we're looking to reduce the quantity of cards that we hold in stock. There will be significantly reduced prices on some of our A6 sized cards, only available in our Manningtree High Street Shop (not on line) so pay us a visit, stock up and grab some bargains!

In Manningtree...

On Saturday, it's the Manningtree Vintage and Collectables market in the Methodist Church Hall, South Street from 9am to 3pm.

On 28th July Manningtree Makers market will be in the Market Square 9am to 2pm.

A relatively quiet couple of weeks for our incredible town but still lots of reasons to visit!

And finally...

My own work appears in lots of stockists all over the country (and further afield!), and I'm always looking for more - if you're a gift shop or coastal outlet that wants nautical-themed cards or artwork, get in touch and let's chat. For wholesale shopping, clicking this link will give you 50% off your first order, and free shipping for a whole year.

I've been working behind the scenes on some new card ranges, and am at the proofing stage so not quite ready to reveal all! Don't forget though, that if you can't get into the NaviStitch shop or you need something on a day that we're closed, I have plenty of my own card designs online - either through my own online shop: or via Etsy:

As always, I'm happy to chat commissions - a complete bespoke piece of nautical stitched art, evoking all kinds of fantastically nautical memories is a great gift for someone for any occasion - Take a look at how simple it is to commission

Next week, I'm in the galley of Sailing Barge Thalatta again , back in the shop on Saturday for the final day of our Summer Exhibition - hoping for calm seas and perfect maritime weather. Mr NaviStitch will be at your service in the shop from Wednesday to Friday - do call in and say hello if you get a chance.

Until next time, I wish you calm waters and plain sailing

Sam
