What's on and coming up... all the Manningtree events...

Here's what's happening in our creative space, the Sail Loft, above the NaviStitch shop on Manningtree High Street over the coming weeks, as well as other Manningtree events...

Most exciting news...
Poster calling for artists to apply for the Summer Exhibition

We're excited to be a part of Manningtree's Earth Festival this Sunday - we'll be open from 11am until around 5pm. We're even more excited that we're hosting a FREE protest pin workshop from MaeKandoo in our Sail Loft on the day. Workshops are for anyone 12 years and upwards and, once you've made them, you can head on to the rest of the Earth Festival activities wearing your environmental pin badge and showing that you care! Book by calling into the NaviStitch shop, or online here.

Take a look at everything happening in Manningtree this Sunday - we may be the smallest town but we certainly pack lots in, and get involved in events that matter.

In the Sail Loft...

Jayson Fletcher's art exhibition during Manningtree's Earth Festival

Jayson Fletcher is with us this week, up to and including Sunday, with his wooden fish exhibition. All of Jayson's fish are made from mostly reclaimed wood and found materials. We know that, if you're here for this Sunday's Manningtree Earth Festival, his work will be right up your eco-friendly street! Come and take a look around our Sail Loft and see these beautiful carved pieces for yourself. To find out more, take a look at our calendar

And then, From 14th to 24th June, we've got the amazing Wisdom Art Prints joining us from Tiptree.

Their art is in a timeless art deco style, reminiscent of travel posters from a bygone age and they have lots of Essex-based art to exhibit.

And if that wasn't enough, they're launching a brand new Mistley Print which will be with us for their exhibition.

Other dates for your diary...

18th June is Fathers' Day - don't forget to get your gifts purchased in plenty of time! If Jayson's carved fish, or Wisdom Art Print's posters weren't enough, we've got so many gift ideas in the NaviStitch shop, alongside my own nautical stitched art. We've got lots of different card ranges to choose from too - don't forget to ask for the behind-the-counter rude box too if your dad's a bit of a cheeky buoy!

24th June is Manningtree Pride Festival - lots of activities in and around the town including:

and then it's July, and buoy oh buoy has July got lots in store for everyone ... more on that in our next edition!

Manningtree and Around

If you're here in our beautiful little town for the Manningtree Earth Festival this weekend, why not call in and take a look at the new 'Manningtree and Around' book by David Cleveland? This is a brand new publication and is bang up-to-date, even including images from the King's Coronation - lots of locals are spotting themselves in the images! We are the Manningtree High Street stockists for this book, we even get a mention in the publication... fame at last!

And finally...

Nautical stitched art commission

Here's a lovely commission that I've recently been working on for Tom and Josie. The couple got married in Croatia and then had a UK celebration on their return home. The chart was actually supplied by the customer and shows the location where they were married in Croatia. It was presented to them on their return to the UK - what a fabulously thoughtful gift! Take a look at how simple it is to commission a complete bespoke piece of nautical stitched art, evoking all kinds of fantastically nautical memories.

Until next time, I wish you calm waters and plain sailing

Sam
