What's on and coming up... Manningtree events galore...

Here's what's happening in our creative space, the Sail Loft, above the NaviStitch shop on Manningtree High Street over the coming weeks, as well as other Manningtree events.

In the Sail Loft...

It's the last 2 days of our collaborative exhibition from two local artists.

Eleana Marshall brings her beautiful coastal-themed paintings on various substrates, and Nicola Burton her eggshell art, using the shells of eggs from her own hens. Both completely different styles, topics and media; equally as captivating as each other - they're here tomorrow and Saturday, so do come along if you're able. Take a look at what else is going on in Manningtree at the weekend later in this newsletter.

And then...

From 9th to 19th August we're joined by Miranda Grayling, Marian Lishman, Jo Clavier, Alison Adcock, Spadge Hopkins and Cally James and their works which include contemporary artworks, ceramics and metal sculptures.

To finish off the month, from 23rd August to 2nd September, Anne Plummer will be bringing her spectacular maritime paintings. An old friend of the Sail Loft, we know that she's a popular artists amongst our visitors.

Saturday and Sunday is Manningtree Town's Regatta - it's a fabulous event hosted by Stour Sailing Club, with lots of events and things to try out and do. There's also a tug of war on Sunday with Neptune returning to oversee that and the races across the river. Lots of fun and games for all the family .... as if you need even more reasons to visit our amazing town!

And finally...

We've had a new delivery of Emily Longhurst's wooden boats. Each one is unique and the hardboard sails are hand painted in acrylic and Indian ink. The hulls are made from reclaimed wood, most of which has been collected along the Norfolk coastline. They make the perfect gift - come in and take a look when you're next in town.

We've also got Manningtree Mermaid magnets - a lovely memento if you're visiting the area, and a great little gift if you know any of our Manningtree Mermaid wild swimmers!

As always, you can find us working on commissions both in the shop and when we're closed - if you fancy commissioning a piece of bespoke artwork as a memento for someone on a special occasion, take a look at how simple it is. A completely bespoke piece of nautical stitched art, can evoke all kinds of fantastically nautical memories.

Until next time, I wish you calm waters and plain sailing

Sam
