What's On and Coming Up

Here's what's happening in our creative space, the Sail Loft, the NaviStitch shop, and on Manningtree High Street over the coming weeks...

In the Sail Loft

In our Sail Loft Gallery at the moment is our Maritime Market: a nautical and coastal themed pop-up shop, inspired by the River Stour and our beautiful coastline.

Goodies and gifts to suit coastal homes, beach huts and for those that love being on or around the water, it'll run until 3rd May - as usual, we're open 10am-4pm, Wednesday-Saturday.

Here are a few pics of what you'll see if you visit over the next week:

Coming up...

Next we've got an exhibition from two first-time artists to our Sail Loft Gallery from 7th May to 17th May: Peter McCarthy with his paintings in oils, acrylics and watercolour and drawings, and Malcolm Moseley with his line drawing in ink or graphite on paper and canvas.

And then our next large, mixed show is our Affordable Art Show. It'll include a selection of work from some of our best loved artists all under £100, so there'll be something for every pocket! From 21st May to 28th June.

And then...

As we've decided not to run the Art Around the Walls art trail this year in the way that we did in 2024, we're hosting a 3-week exhibition, from 1st to 19th July, featuring 10 of our fabulous art trail artists at NaviStitch instead.

Art Around the Walls as a 3-mile trail around Mistley, Manningtree and Lawford will be back in 2026!

Keep an eye on our calendar too - there are still a few weeks left in July and August for artists wanting to exhibit - take a look at all of the info here.

Keep up with all other events happening this year: Magical Mystical Manningtree as well as solo and collaborative exhibitions and our own Autumn and Christmas events too.

In Manningtree

There are always so many reasons to visit our amazingly creative town of Manningtree. Tomorrow there's a Craft market in the Market Square between 9am and 2pm. And, next Saturday, 3rd May from 10am-4pm there's a Pop-up Market in the Old Barclays Bank.

If you're in the area, it's always worth a visit!

And finally...

If you're making memories and would like to celebrate them, or you know someone who's celebrating and would like to mark the occasion, think about commissioning a piece of nautical stitched art.

Take a look at how easy it is to order your own unique piece created from maritime charts, both new and old - many of them fairly local. Always ask if you're looking for somewhere special - I've a huge collection. Now that we can also take orders for bespoke framing in-store, the whole thing's as easy as 1-2-3!

Until next time...

As always, I'm in the NaviStitch shop most days - call in and see me, or get in touch if you fancy chatting about exhibiting, about nautical stitched commissions, about bespoke framing, or if you just fancy a chat!

I wish you calm waters and plain sailing.

Sam
