NaviStitch and Sail Loft News

Here's what's happening in our creative space, the Sail Loft, the NaviStitch shop, and on Manningtree High Street over the coming weeks...

My solo exhibition The Art of Paper Embroidery continues until Saturday 30th August.

This show has been a joy to share - blending watercolours with embroidery across different themes: 🌿 botanical, 🌊 coastal, and ✨ Moroccan-inspired.

It closes this weekend, so don’t miss the chance to catch it before we transform the gallery again.

Workshops update

A huge thank you to everyone who joined my very first workshops last weekend - I came away buzzing from the creativity in the room!

I’ve listened, learned, and made some changes: October workshops will now run one subject per day with extended timings. This should make things more relaxed, and make it much more achievable that participants leave with finished pieces.

📅 Botanical Paper Embroidery – Saturday 25th October

📅 Coastal Paper Embroidery – Sunday 26th October

Both are available to book on my website now. I’ll also be sharing testimonials from recent students on socials soon – it was lovely to receive such positive feedback.

Next up in the Gallery

While the gallery will be closed for hanging next week (the shop is still open), we’ll reopen with our biggest show of the year so far: the Autumn Exhibition.

🖼️ Preview Night: Friday 5th September, 5-8pm (everyone welcome!)

🖼️ Open: Saturday 6th September-Saturday 11th October.

With nearly 50 artists taking part (around half new to the Sail Loft), expect lots of fresh styles and inspiration.

And finally...

This is also the final week of the Summer Collective at Photovogue Gallery, Frinton (closing Saturday 30th August). It’s been a pleasure to exhibit alongside six other talented artists there, with woodturning and leathercraft to oil paintings, botanical art and street scenes. If you get the chance to nip along before Sunday, you won't be disappointed!

Until next time...

As always, I’m in the shop Tuesday-Saturday, 10-4 (though next week I’ll mostly be up a ladder hanging new work!).

Pop by and say hello, or drop me a line if you’d like to chat about stitched commissions, bespoke framing, or future workshops.

I wish you calm waters and plain sailing.

Sam
