NaviStitch and Sail Loft News

Here's what's happening in our creative space, the Sail Loft, the NaviStitch shop, and on Manningtree High Street over the coming weeks...

In the Sail Loft

We're delighted to welcome two artists who are first-timers in our Sail Loft Gallery:

Peter McCarthy is showing an exhibition of paintings in oils, acrylics and watercolour, along with some drawings. Themes include still life flowers, landscapes and portraits.

Malcolm Moseley brings line drawings in ink or graphite , some with plant themes, and different sized pattern and surface based colourful abstract paintings on paper and canvas.

They're with us until 17th May - we'd love you to see their work if you can make it to Manningtree - here's a sneak peek:

Coming up

We're really looking forward to our Affordable Art Show that's taking place from 21st May to 28th June.

We know budgets can be tight at the moment but we'd like everyone to enjoy art so we have an exhibition where nothing is over £100.

No need to be scared to view or worry how much something is if you know that nothing is out of reach. As well as original art there will also be prints and unframed work.

Something for every pocket - get it in your diary!

Sam Luxford News

I've been invited to submit a few pieces in to the incredibly talented Chris Harvey's exhibition at Snape Maltings coming up shortly.

Chris has exhibited with us on several occasions and describes himself as a wood turning artist. His work includes raw edged pieces, sculptural work and he works with local wood and resin to created pieces of beauty.

'Wood and Wild, Capturing Earth's Beauty' is in the Quay Gallery at Snape and runs from 15 – 21 May.

In Manningtree

There are always so many reasons to visit our amazingly creative town of Manningtree.

This Saturday there's a VE Day Celebration picnic on the beach from 12noon until 4pm.

If you're in the area, we'd love to see you too!

In the NaviStitch Shop

We thought we'd show you a couple of new card ranges that we've got in stock - one for adults, one for children (see below). They add to the many and varied ranges that we already stock ... there really is something for everyone!

Don't forget we do our very own custom wrapping paper too ... designed by me. See the pictures below for a few gift pairing ideas!

And finally...

I thought I'd share this commission that I've just completed for 'East Anglian Sea School'. The design was taken from their logo for the piece to hang on their office wall.

They are based in Levington on the River Orwell, the chart shows the area in which they sail with their students.

If you're making memories and would like to celebrate them, or you know someone who's celebrating and would like to mark the occasion, think about commissioning a piece of nautical stitched art.

Take a look at how easy it is to order your own unique piece created from maritime charts, both new and old - many of them fairly local. Always ask if you're looking for somewhere special - I've a huge collection. Now that we can also take orders for bespoke framing in-store, the whole thing's as easy as 1-2-3!

Until next time...

As always, I'm in the NaviStitch shop most days - call in and see me, or get in touch if you fancy chatting about exhibiting, about nautical stitched commissions, about bespoke framing, or if you just fancy a chat!

I wish you calm waters and plain sailing.

Sam
