NaviStitch and Sail Loft News

Here's what's happening in our creative space, the Sail Loft, the NaviStitch shop, and on Manningtree High Street over the coming weeks...

In the Sail Loft

Can you believe that there are only 2 days of our Spring Exhibition left?! We've had the best time and can honestly say that this has been our most successful mixed exhibition so far!

Thanks to all of you who have visited, met our artists and given a new home to so much unique and incredible art.

If you have a chance to visit tomorrow or Saturday, we'd love to see you - where else are you going to see the work of more than 50 local artists in one building!?

Coming up...

Next up in our Sail Loft Gallery is our Maritime Market: a nautical and coastal themed pop-up shop, inspired by the River Stour and our beautiful coastline.

Goodies and gifts to suit coastal homes, beach huts and for those that love being on or around the water, it'll run from 16th April to 3rd May.

And then...

Then we've got an exhibition from two first-time artists to our Sail Loft Gallery from 7th May to 17th May: Peter McCarthy is bringing paintings in oils, acrylics and watercolour and drawings.

Themes include still life flowers, landscapes and portraits.

Malcolm Moseley will be showing line drawing in ink or graphite, some with plant themes, and also colourful abstract paintings on paper and canvas.

And that takes us right through until the beginning of May, when our Affordable Art Show is back.

Our next large, mixed show comes up in May and is our Affordable Art Show. It'll include a selection of work from some of our best loved artists all under £100.

We know budgets can be tight at the moment but we would like everyone to enjoy art so we have an exhibition where nothing is over £100. No need to be scared to view or worry how much something is if you know that nothing is out of reach.

As well as original art there will also be prints and unframed work. Something for every pocket! From 21st May to 28th June.

And that pretty much wraps up the first half of the year in our Sail Loft Gallery!

If you're an artist or maker and fancy an exhibition in our Sail Loft Gallery, there are a few weeks left in July and August - take a look at all of the info here.

Easter time...

It's not long until Easter and opening hours are the same as usual: Wednesday to Saturday, 10am-4pm. We've got cards galore, alongside plenty of giftware - something for everyone from tote bags to coasters, from trinket boxes to magnets, carvings and lots of art...

In other news...

Our incredible town of Manningtree is the smallest in England - however, it's always jam-packed with lots of activities and creative events. Coming up in the next few weeks:

  • Art and Handmade Show at Manningtree Methodist Church in South Street from April 18th-21st, 2pm-5pm daily

  • Monthly craft market in the Market Square on Friday 25th April, 9am-2pm

  • Monthly pop-up market on 3rd May from 10am-4pm in the Old Barclays Bank building

Until next time...

As always, I'm in the NaviStitch shop most days - call in and see me, or get in touch if you fancy chatting about exhibiting, about nautical stitched commissions, about bespoke framing, or if you just fancy a chat!

I wish you calm waters and plain sailing.

Sam
