Jubilee news and more...

We are so pleased to be open as usual during this Jubilee week in our vibrant little town of Manningtree - there's so much going on:

  • This evening from 7pm-10pm it's Manningtree Town Council's Queen's Jubilee Beach Party and Candlelight Parade with food, drink and entertainment

  • Tomorrow we have Mistley, Manningtree and Lawford's Jubilee celebration at Welcome Home Field in Mistley from 4pm: Free entry and a full line-up of entertainment, culminating in fireworks over the Stour at 10:15

  • Saturday is the monthly Manningtree Antiques and Collectables market from 9am-3pm

Why not call in and see us when you head to each of these events? We're delighted to have Olivia English's 'Conspicuous - Land, Sea & Sky' exhibition here in our Sail Loft until Saturday.

Support the Ukrainian Humanitarian Fund by purchasing a raffle ticket from Olivia for £10 and be in with a chance of winning the beautiful, large Babka painting. The draw will be done by Manningtree Mayor, Michelle Taylor on Saturday at 3:30pm in the NaviStitch shop.

In other news...

We're looking forward to next week when we've got Madeleine Tapp joining us for both an exhibition of her own incredible work full of colour, texture, atmosphere and character and also for a series of three workshops: Floral Still Life on Thursday, Pet Portrait Drawing on Friday and Mixed Media from Still Life on Friday 17th. Take a look at our calendar for more details on Madeleine's workshops

We ran a competition earlier in the year with the prize being the opportunity to host an exhibition in the Sail Loft for 4 days for free. The winners decided to take the opportunity to collaborate and, as a result, from 22nd-25th June we'll be playing host to Wivenhoe Artists: Emma Connolly Art, Lara Fletcher Textiles, Georgina Lorton Ceramics and Fleurs du Coeur Lino. We're looking forward to this one! Don't miss what's happening upstairs in the Sail Loft - keep an eye on the calendar

Don't forget, if you're an artist or maker and you'd like to find out more about hiring our Sail Loft space/s for your exhibition, workshop or pop-up event, take a look at our info and let's chat about the details.

Summer Vibes...

A huge thank you to all of the artists that have submitted work for our exhibition - we're reviewing the applications at the moment and would love to accommodate as many works as possible - we've had a huge number of applications and we are limited by space and so we're have the tough job of whittling down finalists! We've had some amazing submissions and can't wait to put the exhibition together.

More information on this coming soon but the dates are now set as 2nd to 30th July with a preview evening on 1st July

And finally...

We've got lots of cards, gifts and artwork in the NaviStitch shop - here's a selection of some you may not have seen yet. Why not call in when you can and take a look ?

As well as my nautical stitched art, we try to stock a wide range of cards and gift ideas so that you know where to come for any special occasion...

...talking of which, it's only 2 weeks and 3 days to Fathers Day - why not come and take a look for something for your old buoy?

Whatever you're up to this Jubilee bank holiday, have a fantastic time - if you're in the area, we'd love to see you. As always, I wish you calm waters and plain sailing until the next time

Sam
